HOW IT WORKS

benefits of OsteoStrong

The term osteoporosis means “porous bone.” When viewed under a microscope, healthy bone looks like a tightly formed honeycomb.

When osteoporosis occurs, those holes and spaces have become much more extensive, indicating a loss of density that makes them both more fragile and susceptible to injury.

OsteoStrong can help prevent and even reverse the effects of osteoporosis.

One of the symptoms of declining musculoskeletal strength is a loss of balance.

Because you engage your central nervous system and entire musculoskeletal system in a brief but very unique way at OsteoStrong, one of the benefits is an almost instant improvement in balance and agility.

In fact, it’s one of the first things that people notice.

Dramatic improvements can happen quickly at all ages with regular OsteoStrong sessions.

Members have experienced a significant improvement in posture in less than 8 sessions (2-months).

Many others see similar results because of the unique yet simple way that OsteoStrong sessions engage the entire musculoskeletal chain.

Nearly 52 million Americans suffer from Osteopenia, or low bone density, which can cause serious health issues and lower overall quality of life.

At age 30, we begin to lose bone density if we don’t get enough exercise, calcium and vitamin D.

OsteoStrong is designed to improve your bone strength, which will allow you to stay active, and avoid and manage disease.

OsteoStrong technology has been shown to trigger bone density growth, but why does this matter to an athlete?

Other than protection from fractures, skeletal strengthening in many cases eliminates limitations to plateaus and muscle growth.

This means that when your body has a more powerful frame, more muscular engagement and thereby more muscular strength and power.

There are multiple, well-proven and safe approaches to treating type II diabetes and metabolic dysfunction.

Fortunately, these different approaches can be used individually, or in conjunction with one another.

When viewed as single therapies however, it is OsteoStrong that performs the best compared to the other standards of care in the reduction of HbA1c (long term blood glucose measures).

OsteoStrong Science

OsteoStrong sessions utilize a series of devices that allow axial compression of bone to emulate the effect of impact, which is called Osteogenic Loading. Because of the optimized positioning of the human body, loading forces go through the human bone that are far higher than those seen in daily activity or weight training. Heavy loading is already understood and recommended by all international bodies of medical education, but at OsteoStrong, we make it safer.

In fact, we’ve known for over 100 years that Osteogenic Loading works. In the late 1800’s, Dr. Julius Wolff discovered that bones will adapt to the loads under which they are placed (Wolff’s Law). What we didn’t know until the 2012 Deere & Tobias study (to the right) was that there is a minimum threshold to triggering osteogenesis. 4.2 multiples of your body weight is the minimum required force to trigger bone growth in the hip joint (the most important place to avoid fracture) and peak forces with adults in conventional resistance exercise only show 1.26 to 1.54 multiples of body weight.

The OsteoStrong Technology:
Spectrum System

OsteoStrong uses the Spectrum System to deliver unprecedented results. Spectrum is first-in-class of a new category devices called Robotic Musculoskeletal Development System (RMDS).

The Spectrum System consists of four modalities as demonstrated in the videos below: 1) Upper Growth Trigger, 2) Lower Growth Trigger, 3) Core Growth Trigger and 4) Postural Growth Trigger.

Spectrum was invented by the Father of Osteogenic Loading, Dr. John Jaquish, Ph.D. Dr. Jaquish is the Chief Science Advisor for OsteoStrong and author of Osteogenic Loading. Dr. Jaquish has been a frequent speaker at the World Congress on Osteoporosis and is on the board of American Bone Health. His contributions to the OsteoStrong brand have been invaluable in bringing this technology to the world.

Upper GT

The 1st Movement in the Spectrum Circuit strengthens the upper body: hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and between the shoulder blades.

Lower GT

The 2nd Movement in the Spectrum Circuit strengthens the lower body: feet, ankles, knees, hips, and the entire lower body.

Core GT

The 3rd Movement in the Spectrum Circuit strengthens the core of the body by bringing the rib cage to the pelvis to target the deep abdominal muscles.

Postural GT

The 4th (and Final) Movement  in the Spectrum Circuit strengthens the spine and stimulates coordination the entire kinetic chain from the feet to the shoulders.

Before You Arrive

Physical

While OsteoStrong is not a gym, we do support a regular exercise regimen; however, we recommend that you do not exercise at least 3 hours before a session as this will produce quicker results. We also recommend you come hydrated for optimal results.

Skirts & Dresses

During your session, you will be sitting on a few of our specialized devices. Some of our members prefer to wear pants, shorts, or slacks instead of a skirt or dress.

Attire

Come as you are. Sessions are quick and only take 10 sweat-free minutes once per week. You will feel comfortable wearing anything from business casual to regular street clothes. We see everything from slacks to yoga pants!

Time

Regular sessions generally take 10 minutes or less. However, your first visit to OsteoStrong will be longer because of the initial orientation and education. We also want to know more about you and any personal needs or expectations that you may have.

Shoes

Almost any shoes are appropriate as long as they do not have a large heel. Some of our members bring a secod pair of shoes or just wear the socks while they do their session and all of our facilities have a place to store your shoes.

End of Session

After you complete your session, your certified session coach will spend time with you to answer whatever questions you may have about your session, what type of results you can expect and the available membership plans.
